POEM: Matthew and Me
The snow fell so silently this morning. It caught us all so off guard.
My dog - so hesitant to put her paw in the crunch. In the wet.
I was fortunate to take advantage of this time alone this morning, in the silence and in the beauty.
In the quiet snowfall.
Just Matthew and me. Him teaching, me learning.
Both, abiding, with the word of God.
I am told: You are the Light of the World.
Hours later now, coffee long gone, my reading long over, still I sit and ponder.
I am in wonder - this relationship I have. I feel awe perhaps for the first time, truly, for ages.
The snow recedes now, as quietly as it came.
And still I sit. Grateful for its appearance at dawn.
Grateful for Matthew.
