JESUS was IMPRESSED BY...FAITH

For we walk by faith, not by sight. – 2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV

When a sinful woman anoints Jesus’ feet, He says “Your faith has saved you; go in peace” (Luke 7:50 ESV)

When a woman with an issue of blood, pushed through crowds to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment to be healed, He said this to her: “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.” (Luke 8:48 ESV)

Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarded of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6 ESV)

When a mother believed in the healing power of Jesus for her child, although she was a Gentile, Jesus said: “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” (Matthew 15:28 ESV)

Faith is believing God will fulfill His promises and then to act according to that faith. To have faith in Jesus means to trust Him. Simply. Fully. Without reservation.

On one occasion, before Jesus healed two blind men, He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They answered, “Yes, Lord,” and He healed them “according to [their] faith” (Matthew 9:28–29). The men simply trusted the power and goodness of the Lord, and they received their sight.

I pray every day that my faith is as strong and sure as I think it is.... when and if direct challenges come to me to stand on my faith in Jesus. When my partner Pat died,* she was looking directly at Jesus for 20 hours, and told us. Described Him. Described her feelings about it. She had faith and she inspired me as she expired - more than any other time of our twenty plus years.

* there IS a story here.... I will share it

FAITH:

The assent of the mind to the truth of a proposition or statement for which there is not complete evidence; belief in general.

Firm belief based upon confidence in the authority and veracity of another, rather than upon one's own knowledge, reason, or judgment; earnest and trustful confidence: as, to have faith in the testimony of a witness; to have faith in a friend.

In a more restricted sense: In theology, spiritual perception of the invisible objects of religious veneration; a belief founded on such spiritual perception.
