New Ways to Change Things

I found this play, and this very idea of this play.... to be impressive. It made an impression on my heart. I have never been in jail (Thank God!) and have also never known anyone close to me that has been in jail - rightfully or wrongfully.  So I speak purely as an outsider of any experience - and think that plays like "The Box" can help make change systemically.

Of course, my primary devotion is towards awareness of the goodness and the very kindness of Jesus Christ to inform our individual and our collective responses to worldly things to reduce and even eradicate the improvement of solutions. To eradicate the need for a solution because Love covers every sin. Heals every wound. And that can be shared, shown and experienced through communication - through words and acts.

Anyway: I found this article, and this Play it describes, to perhaps be one of the many avenues open to us to change the burdens we carry as a society.

The show’s playwright, Sarah Shourd, was a political prisoner in Iran for over 400 days. Since her release in 2010, she has collaborated with other survivors and activists to end solitary confinement in US prisons.
