Camels Needles and Money

Ah, yes these famous quotes... but I have found through study that we have gotten it very wrong in so many places.

For one, this idea about Money is the Root of All Evil -

NOPE: THE LOVE OF MONEY1 Timothy 6:10 ESV / For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Hebrews 13:5 ESV /

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Matthew 6:24 ESV /

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 ESV /

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.

And then that Camel thing! People think that means Rich People cannot go to heaven. The Bible does not say that, friends. Not only is it the Love of Money - over the Love of God -  but it is those who Trust in Money over their trust in God. World/Culture VS Kingdom/Heaven. This is another example of a single verse without context of verse prior.

So think about this - Did Solomon go to Heaven? How wealthy was David? How many wealthy Christians, true Christians, generous Christians - do you know  - and think they are not worthy of Gods grace for salvation?

And lastly, it does not say Heaven but the Kingdom of God. What does that mean? Wealthy people become Christians and come to the Church - the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Kingdom of Heaven has to do with Humanity - The Sphere of Influence of Christ, Christendom.

So in the Kingdom of Heaven there are both tares and there is wheat (Matthew 13:24-30). We are not the great sorters of the wheat and tare. We are not the great sorters of the fish when Jesus asked his disciples to go "gather men". Jesus is. So for a rich man to get through that needle depends on the first-trust and the first-love of the man gathered.

Mark 10:25 ESV /

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

Matthew 19:24 ESV /

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

Luke 18:25 ESV /

For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

Luke 13:23-24 ESV /

And someone said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
