Obedience is Better Than Sacrifice: 1st Samuel
So wow, this really struck me as I listened to David Guzik walk through a study of 1 Samuel with me. It is a revelation for me to consider my obedience delights the Lord so much.
First, it seems, I must get "Better" at hearing Him.
I have zero doubt that He hears me, that He is here.
I have zero doubt that He directs me.
I can see it in my life, in my steps. In my conviction.
I just don't Hear Him.
But somehow I am moved by Him, and guided by Him.
Just look at my life.
#Fruit, by grace.
So - obedience is all I work at. Obedience, when I feel led to get out of bed at three in the morning to pray, on my knees, just for a moment. No Voice. How do I Know?
Well, surely I would hate to be wrong.
And I am so cared for: I am so loved; I am so supported in every worldly move.
And I Practice -> Holding Everything Lightly, and Give Lord His Time.
"But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD : your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.'" (1 Samuel 15:22)
