Beautifully answered, Clearly shared, Gently exhorted

Every time some one wants to talk to me about homosexuality - oh I thank God that there were zero hesitations between Pat and me when we discussed The WORD we learned versus The LIFE we had.

Jackie Hill Perry speaks...  in a way I would like to learn. Anyway: I follow her and this stumbled up onto my thread this morning and I have shared in many personal threads and texts because of the impression it had made on me.

The Question.
The Listening.
The Interest.
The Answer.
The Word.

I hope if you listen... you are moved like I was, and perhaps gained in grace like I have been...in methods to speak to this especially sensitive "social" issue. Knowing that all issues are about our love for God. Is He number one?

Truly?

Then, what ever upsets us?
Gay->Marriage->Any issue.... is not our IDENTITY.
My Identity is Child of the King and I pray to Act from there in every step.

I will write on that separately - today, I hope you will listen to this beautiful response. And, check out the comments too!

This is how you exhort, this is how you encourage. This is how you rightfully divide. This is how you gently deal with this situation. Bless the LORD. I needed to hear this tonight.

This was a discipleship moment. Thank you for modeling a loving and truthful way to respond to these kind of issues. I'm reminded to ASK QUESTIONS FIRST... rather than immediately run to scripture. Jesus was notorious for asking questions. And the first thing out of Jackie's mouth was a question, not a scripture. Great great discipleship moment. I was taking notes indeed.

The way y'all spoke truth with tenderness and conviction showed a commitment to honoring Christ AND the loving the person you were speaking to. Didn't tip toe, but handled her soul with tenderness. Very much like Jesus. Well done.
